Navarrenx is the latest town to join the 157 communes throughout France, nominated as being the 'most beautiful'. Nestled in the heart of the Béarn, this 14C fortified town sits on the edge of the Gave d'Oloron. Navarrenx is not only well situated being just 35 mins from the historic city of Pau; 45 mins from both the Pyrenean ski slopes and the Spanish border and under an hours drive to the lively coastal resort of Biarritz … but it is also a growing touristic town. Well known for its handmade cigars called the "Navarre' (the only cigars exclusively made with French tobacco) and also its brocantes and art museums. The town is also a popular resting point for pilgrims on route to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostella in Northwestern Spain. Come and see for yourselves !
